Meet the Ting Mobile Flex plan

There’s been a lot of excitement about our new plans, and for good reason. We’ve designed them so that there’s an option that will save every type of user money on their monthly phone bill. Which plan is right for you? We’re here to help you decide with a deep dive into the features of each one. Today, we’re taking a look at the Ting Mobile Flex plan.

What’s in a name? In this case, everything. The Flex plan is designed to “flex” with you and your data needs. First off, here are the basics:
- $10 per month gets you unlimited talk and text
- Add data as needed at $5 per GB of LTE or 5G data
- Nationwide LTE coverage, 5G coverage where available
- Shared data across all lines on your account
- No contract
Nationwide coverage, no contract and unlimited talk and text are great features that are included in all our plans. It’s the other features, however, that make this plan unique and perfectly suited to certain users.
Add data as needed
Oftentimes, carriers will offer low-volume data plans and then penalize customers with expensive overage fees. We do things differently. With the Ting Mobile Flex plan, it’s very simple: every GB you use is at the regular rate of $5 per GB. No penalties, just a low price you can depend on.
Shared data
This is one that’s important to understand because it’s a great way to save. All data on the Flex plan is shareable across the lines on your account. That means if you buy 5 GB of data and have three lines (phone numbers) on your account, all three are able to use that 5 GB.
Who is Flex for?
The Ting Mobile Flex plan is great for people who use feature phones (e.g flip phones) and those who are low mobile data users or rarely use mobile data at all. No need for data this month? Then you’ll pay just $10 and be able to talk and text to your heart’s content. However, perhaps you and your partner occasionally use navigation or simple Google searches while on the go. In this situation, you both are likely to use less than 1 GB of data combined. Since you’re sharing data, you’ll only pay $25 on your account!
It’s important to note that mobile data is what’s being referred to here. This is still a great plan if you’re constantly on your phone, but regularly on Wi-Fi. If you work from home, for example, and your calculations show that when on the go, you won’t use more than, say, 2 GB of data, Flex will also be a great fit for you.
