Complete control over how your apps use data
NetGuard (for Android) lets you selectively block apps from accessing your cellular data, Wi-Fi connection, or both, without requiring root access. This can be useful in a number of circumstances.
For example, you could block cellular data access for Twitter, Facebook or Instagram if you want to check your cached feeds without the app auto-refreshing and using your mobile data connection.
Or, if you notice an app using mobile data when it shouldn’t be, NetGuard can block it from ever being able to access the cellular network again. This is especially useful for streaming services like Spotify which may use a minimal amount of data even after downloading your music for offline use.
It’s also great for apps that don’t play well when handing-off from the cellular network to a Wi-Fi connection (and vice versa), letting you choose one permanent option.
It is super easy to set up and use – just grab it from Google Play and keep data-hungry apps from driving up your cell phone bill.
