The best Android games are made for an entirely mobile experience and let you take your favorite games with you anywhere. They have rich worlds, memorable characters and the ability to interact socially or even with your physical environment.
We all remember the summer of 2016. It was glorious. Pretty much everyone was playing Pokémon Go, getting outside and trying to catch ‘em all. If you’re looking to recapture some of that fun with a mobile game this summer, you’ll want to check out our favorites. These cell phone games are a vast step up from Candy Crush. In fact, each one is a spinoff of a popular series in its own right, whether it’s a TV show, a movie or an existing game.

Still missing that Pokémon Go feeling?
If you find yourself checking in on Pokémon Go news and feel like giving the game another shot, now’s the perfect time. The weather’s getting warmer and there’s a ton of new Pokémon out and about. There are also two new Nintendo Switch games on the way: Let’s Go, Pikachu and Let’s Go, Eevee, that will let you transfer your Kanto Pokémon in from Go.

Can’t wait for the next season of Stranger Things? Good thing the mobile game gets rave reviews across the board. With old school, arcade-style graphics, join the cast of Stranger Things in an action adventure game that will take you to Hawkins Lab, Mirkwood Forest, the Middle School and more.
This game is free plus ad-free, a real rarity these days, and guarantees some nostalgic feels for all the retro game lovers and 80s kids out there.
A solid game with a fun interface. If this was the kind of review where we scored things, we’d give it an 11 out of 10… we couldn’t resist.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds mobile game brings the online multiplayer battle royale right to your phone. In each game, 100 players parachute onto a remote island for an intense, winner-take-all battle.
You have to scavenge your own weapons, vehicles and supplies and can team up with friends to defeat the competition. PUBG mobile has been hailed as the best mobile player-versus-player game around with the ability to hold 100 live players on a map at the same time. There’s a lot to love here, and PUBG web players will be pretty impressed with the mobile translation.

Jurassic World Alive seems to be the most likely contender for a Pokémon Go replacement. Just log in with your Facebook or use a guest account and get going. In the game, you’re tasked with helping the Dinosaur Protection Group find dinosaurs in your area. When you encounter a dino you use a drone to fire at and eventually capture them.
Jurassic World Alive is pretty much exactly like Pokémon Go but with dinosaurs. We’re not complaining but it does feel like it’s lacking somehow. Maybe it feels too close to Pokémon Go? Like, we’re all for Augmented Reality and games that get you out and about, but a little originality never hurt anyone, right?
Animal Crossing Pocket Camp review | Android | iOS |
This free-to-play social simulation game is an adaptation of the much loved Animal Crossing. Like Animal Crossing before it, Pocket Camp is all about a relaxed gaming experience. Build and set up a campsite by collecting craft materials from animals you meet along the way. You can create friendships and invite your friends to visit your campsite. Unfortunately, while this one is free, in-app purchases kind of meddle with the whole laidback, peaceful atmosphere. But that’s just our opinion.
